I used to be shy but I wouldn’t change it for the world. To the point where I’ve never met someone with my name, but it makes me happy and I receive compliments all the time on how beautiful my name is. I have a longer name and also a very unique name. It’s a beautiful name and has a great nickname. It’s just perfect for us.Ĭassiopeia was also a character in Greys anatomy I believe. It’s precious to us for a reason and I love the sound and the uniqueness yet it’s not unheard of. I named my boy a rare name, and I think I’d get hot and cold on the internet, but in real life people just say “wow! I won’t forget that one!” or “that’s something else isn’t it!” I always decide to either take it as a compliment or not to care at all. It totally justifies everything in my mind. If it helps, I would love to wear a name that signified the love my parents had/have for each other in some way. ![]() “wait what?” So maybe you could do that?Īnd, I totally get wanting to ask your children! Haha. I didn’t mind my name too much (it was definitely out there at the time, and in my language it literally means flower, so it was just right in your face) but going into high school I decided I was going to go by my middle name which was still rare (Ada) but not like. I also appreciate the honesty of people saying it's a terrible name.(or sounds like a disease □) The whole reason I posted was because I wanted honest opinions!Įdit 2: I don't like just Cassie. So it's that or a different sounding name all together unfortunately. I'm not sure though, is it too long? Will people butcher the pronunciation or make fun of it or does it sound too "out there"? Thoughts?Įdit: I'm getting lots of Cassidy and Cassia suggestions and while I appreciate the input, the only "Cassie" name I like the sound of is Cassiopeia. I jokingly suggested it and to my surprise he really liked it. When we were first dating years ago we used to love going for walks and stargazing and the constellation Cassiopeia (cassie-oh-pee-ya) was one we would locate every time and talk about. He really likes the name Cassie but I don't like the name Cassandra for her. I'm 30 weeks pregnant with a girl and my husband and I are having a hard time finding names we agree on.
